Core Course 4 Outline

This course includes:

7 days on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia

At this week-long Embodiment Intensive you will step deeper into the role of facilitator and practitioner while continuing to hold space for your own erotic unfolding. In this course we will continue to layer your personal 16 learnings from Core Course Three with more hands-on practice with real time feedback in the following modalities: scar tissue and genital dearmouring, sensual massage, internal and external anal mapping and massage, erotic massage dancing and Ecstatic Erotic Massage. You will deepen your understanding and skills in working with trauma, develop session arcs and plans for clients presenting with common sexual concerns, and have opportunities to practice facilitating somatic sexeducation in groups.

Travel Information

Salt Spring Island in British Columbia, Canada, is the jewel of Canada’s Southern Gulf Islands. It is nestled up against the east side of Vancouver Island, about half way between Nanaimo and Victoria, the capital city of BC. The city of Vancouver on the mainland of BC is to the north. More about Salt Spring.

Please make sure to plan ahead for your ferry times and transfers, so you can arrive well before our start time. If you come without a car, please find accommodations in the Ganges area so we can easily get you to and from Caffyn’s studio. (Tracy helps people get touch who want to share accommodations, and makes sure everyone has a ride to and from the studio each day.)

Take a taxi to Swartz Bay (approximately 15 minutes, $25). From there you can get a ferry that takes 35 minutes to Fulford Harbour on Salt Spring Island. A bus meets the ferry and takes you directly to the town of Ganges. Ferry schedules are available here (be sure to look for the schedule on the date you will be travelling).

You can travel to Salt Spring Island via seaplane (25 minutes) from the south terminal of Vancouver airport (take a free bus or cab from the international airport to the south terminal). or

To travel via ferry from Vancouver: Take skytrain and bus to Tsawassen ferry terminal. There are daily ferries to Long Harbor on Salt Spring Island. You can also buy a throughfare ticket and transfer in Swartz bay on Vancouver island, where you will get the Fulford Harbour ferry to Salt Spring Island (see above).

There is an additional ferry from Crofton on Vancouver island to Vesuvius Bay on Salt Spring Island.

There are two additional routes that are occasionally used by students traveling from Seattle.

The Victoria Clipper is a passenger-only ferry with daily service to downtown Victoria from downtown Seattle. From downtown Victoria there is a bus to The Swartz Bay ferry terminal. It is a journey of approximately 1 hour.

The MV Coho is a car ferry that makes regular trips between downtown Victoria and Port Angeles, Washington.

Please be sure to arrive on time, and leave plenty of time on either end of your travels for the ferry journey, the journey to your accommodations from the ferry landing, and then traveling to Caffyn’s studio! If you will not be bringing a car, you will want to stay in the village of Ganges. We can arrange ride shares – or you may wish to walk (it is a pleasant 20-minute walk to Caffyn’s studio from the village). Our admin Tracy can help connect people who want to share accommodations or transportation. We can commit to making sure you have a ride from Ganges and back each day, if you get accommodation in the village.

Please bring light clothes without belts, buttons or bling. Yoga clothes are good for embodied practices. Weather on Salt Spring Island any time of year can be wet and chilly, so bring layers. You are welcome to bring an item of personal significance for the altar. You may also wish to write your intention for the workshop on a piece of paper to bring to the altar. Altar items will return with you.
